I have been working in Moultonborough since 1998. I started out in fifth grade and moved to third grade in 2001 where I am today. I love working in Moultonborough because of the administrative and town support for education. Many of my academic and personal beliefs and philosophies are shared by those in the Moultonborough School District.
I grew up in Madison, NH and attended Kennett High School. I graduated in 1988 knowing that I wanted to be a teacher someday but was not ready to commit to a collegiate program just yet. I enrolled in a community college called, School for Lifelong Learning, and began taking some night courses. In 1989, I began working in a pre-school in Madison. I worked there as an assistant teacher for 4 years until I began to attend Plymouth State College, now known as Plymouth State University, full time. I graduated in 1997 with a degree in Childhood Studies and a K-8 teaching certificate. My first job was a long-term substitute position at Inter-Lakes Elementary School as a special education teacher. It was during this time that I became aware of an opening as a long-term substitute at
Moultonborough Central School in a fifth grade classroom. As soon as I walked in the doors, I felt like I had come home and I've been here ever since.
I currently live in Meredith with my husband, 2 daughters, dog and cat. My husband, Chris, owns and operates Leather Medic of Central New Hampshire, with his dad. Sophie is working hard in first grade at Inter-Lakes Elementary School. Emma is having fun at a day-care called, Kidworks. We enjoy spending time with each other at the beach, camping and/or relaxing at home. |
