Welcome to second grade. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year!
A little bit about me: I have been teaching at MCS since 1985. During those years I have taught in the primary grades, Readiness through second grade, but first grade has been my home for most of that time.
What to expect in second grade: The creation of a caring community of learners is essential for children’s well-being and academic success and is an important and ongoing part of our social curriculum. The academic curriculum: reading, writing, math and science are taught with a hands-on approach in which students are actively engaged in learning. Developing a strong home and school connection is also an important goal and is vital to a child’s success in school. I look forward to working closely with parents so each child experiences success and a love of learning.
