Caring Student Intern Program at LRGH. If you are interested in a career in healthcare, this is a great opportunity. There are two sessions: July 9-13 or August 6-10. Each session has four days of education and training in a variety of hospital departments. The program is held from 11am-3pm each day and is open for students who are 15 or older. The application is available in the guidance office.
ACE Academy Aviation Program: July 16-20 at Laconia Airport. Program cost is $375. Sponsored by the FAA, the program will introduce students to many careers in the aerospace industry. University of Massachusetts Summer College Residential Program for High School Students: Current sophomores and juniors are invited to apply to this residential program that offers optional college credit in a wide variety of subjects. Please check UMassSummer for the details.
Marine Biology Summer Camp: Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. July 22-28 or July 29-August 4: This one-week experience for high school students will include field excursions, laboratory demonstration and experiments and seminars on coastal ecology and marine environments. Health Careers Institute at Dartmouth: High school students can choose one of four one-week sessions in July or August. Learn about a variety of health occupations. UNH PROJECT SMART: a program for motivated sophomores or juniors interested in science and mathematics. This year's program runs from July 5-29. Sant Bani School Summer Program: One week of fun and educational programs for students entering 3rd-8th grades. Workshops cover musical, science, athletic and artistic topics. Norwich University (VT) Future Leader Camp for students currently in grades 9, 10, and 11 with a 2.5 or above GPA. Future Leader Camp is designed to focus on individual and team skill development. Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is seeking First Guide volunteers to assist their work on the exhibit trails and in the classrooms. First Guides will receive training and are expected to complete 18 hours of training and 12 hours of volunteering during the 2012 season. If you love the Science Center and are interested in working with animals, come ask for more information in the guidance office. Applications are due April 9th.
City Year: This is a nonprofit organization that brings young people into cities to provide community service for a 10-month term. Eligible students have a diploma or some college education, are between the ages of 17-24, and are willing to dedicate 10 months to full-time service.
