- Plymouth State University Morgridge Family Opportunity Scholarship: If you are eligible for a Pell Grant and are applying to Plymouth State University, then you should check out the Morgridge Family Opportunity Scholarship. Applications and brochures are available in guidance. You may be eligible for $3000/year for all four years of college. Deadline to apply is May 1, 2012.
- Jennifer Lively Memorial Scholarship: Awarded by EM Heath, Inc to one MA graduating senior each year. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, scholastic achievement and extracurricular involvement. The application is available in the guidance office and is due April 22, 2012.
- Lakes Region Board of Realtors: Awarded to a senior who is planning to attend a two-year or four-year college and who demonstrates academic achievement, community involvement and financial need. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline to apply is April 19, 2012.
- Meredith Rotary Club: Available to high school seniors from Inter-Lakes and Moultonborough. Applicants must demonstrate financial need as well as school and community activities. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due by April 30, 2012.
- Lakes Region General Hospital Auxilary Scholarship: Available to high school seniors who are pursuing careers in a medical/health-related field. Applicants must have above a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need and provide information about activities, awards and community service. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due May 1, 2012.
- MVSB/James D Sutherland Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to a Moultonborough Academy graduate who will start college in 2012. Students must demonstrate financial need, commitment to community and capacity to succeed in their chosen field. Applications are due April 19, 2012 and are available in the guidance office.
- Moultonborough Women's Club: This scholarship is open to Moultonborough residents. Applicants must demonstrate community involvement and financial need. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due April 30, 2012.
- Empire Beauty School offers a $500 scholarship to any MA graduate who plans to attend Empire Beauty School. Please see Mrs. Chapman for more information.
- Gnerre Memorial Music Scholarship: Awarded to a student who is continuing his/her education in the field of Music, Music Theater or Music Education. The application is available in the guidance office and is due May 1, 2012.
- Moultonborough Community Association Scholarship: MA seniors and alumni who will be attending college next year are encouraged to apply. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation and a letter outlining future goals. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due May 1, 2012.
- Moultonborough Lions Club Scholarship: Moultonborough Academy seniors who demonstrate community involvement and service to others are encouraged to apply. Scholarships are available for students attending two-year or four-year colleges, and applicants should make sure to complete the application that matches their college goals. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due May 1, 2012.
- Suissevale Association Scholarship: The Suissevale Association will award a $1000 scholarship to a senior graduating from MA and planning to attend college in the fall. Selection is based on community involvement, financial need and brief essays. The application is available in the guidance office and is due April 18, 2012. Student does not need to be a resident of Suissevale.
- Moultonborough Police Association: The Police Association will give 2 $1000 scholarships for Moultonborough residents who will be enrolled in college for the 2012-2013 school year. In addition, they will offer 2 $500 scholarships for residents who are continuing their education or taking college prep courses. The applications are available in the guidance office and are due May 15, 2012.
- Carroll County Farm Bureau Scholarship: Current college students who are studying Forestry, Agriculture, Environmental Science or Conservation are eligible. Students need to submit a statement addressing their interest and how it will benefit agriculture in NH. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due June 1, 2012.
- Moultonborough PTA Scholarship: The PTA will present two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors. Applicants must write an essay. Applications are available in the guidance office and will also be mailed home to all seniors with quarter three report cards. Essays are due May 11, 2012.
- Moultonborough Fire/Rescue Department Scholarship: This scholarship is open to all Moultonborough residents who are pursuing their post-secondary education. The scholarship will be paid after the first semester directly to the college or technical school. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due May 15, 2012.
- MA High School Student Council Scholarship: Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and have earned at least one letter in a varsity sport. Applicants need to provide an essay about future goals and plans. Two $500 scholarships will be granted to current seniors. The application is available in the guidance office and is due May 15, 2012.
- Dr. & Mrs. Peter Rosanelli, Sr Scholarship: This scholarship is for a member of the graduating class whose intended major is medical, health or science-related. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due by April 19, 2012.
- Marine Corps League--Ralph Wiles Scholarship: Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a US Marine or Navy Corpsman attached to Marine units. Scholarships are in the amount of $500 or $1000. Applications are available in the guidance office. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2012.
- MSSA Scholarship: This scholarship is for graduating seniors who are planning to study education. The application is available in the guidance office and is due May 9, 2012.

State & National Scholarships
- Take it to the Bank Scholarship: One $1000 scholarship will be awarded EACH MONTH of your senior year! Simply enter your information on the Take It to the Bank link on the NHHEAF web site. You can enter every month. Winners will be drawn on the first of each month starting November 1st.
- The Medallion Fund: This scholarship is to assist students who are going into a vocational or technical program that does not lead to a four-year degree. There is no application deadline; you can apply any time during the year. Applications are available in the guidance office or at the NH Charitable Fund web site.
- The Christian Connector provides a free Christian college information service as well as a $2500 Christian college scholarship drawing. Log on to www.ChristianConnector.com to request information and be entered in the drawing.
- Granite State Conference: This scholarship is available to scholar-athletes who have made contributions to their school communities. The application is available in the guidance office and is due May 1, 2011.
- NH Charitable Foundation: Many scholarships are available within this one organization. The Statewide Student Aid Program is the most general scholarship and is open to the most students. Please find details for specific programs at www.nhcf.org Applications are due April 13, 2012.
- Professional Fire Fighters of NH Scholarship: Applicants must be interested in fire emergency services, and plan to attend college. Application is available in the guidance office and is due April 30, 2012.
- NH Fisher Cats Foundation: The Fisher Cats Foundation will grant 10 student-athletes $2500 each toward their college education. Applicants must demonstrate good academic performance, significant athletic achievement and active civic involvement and financial need. Applications are available at www.nhcf.org and are due April 13, 2012.
- Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship: Available to college students who are pursuing education in the fields of nursing, medicine or social work. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. The application also requires recommendation letters from current professors. (Plan ahead!) Application is available in the MA guidance office and is due April 16, 2012.
- NH Housing Authority Anthony W. Romano & Vernon C. Kelley Memorial Scholarships: Students who receive housing assistance are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Application is available in the guidance office or at www.nhhac.org. Applications are due April 13, 2012.
- NH Association of Family & Consumer Sciences: Applicants must be NH residents who are pursuing a career in one of the following areas: Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Parenting & Child Development, Fashion or Interior Design, Education or a FACS related field. Applicants must have a GPA above 2.5 and have completed at least 3 FACS courses. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due April 30, 2012.
- NH Art Association Omer T. Lassonde Scholarship: Students who are pursuing a degree in the visual arts are encouraged to apply. A portfolio and an artistÃs statement must be submitted. The application is available in the guidance office and is due April 15, 2012.
- The Stephens Phillips Memorial Scholarship: Students must display financial need, academic excellence, a demonstrated sense of service to those around them, good character and a strong work ethic. This is a New England-wide scholarship, and last year $163,000 went to NH students! Scholarships of $3000-$10,000 are given to each recipient and the scholarships are renewable throughout college. Complete application information is available on www.phillips-scholarship.org. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2012.
- Granite State Designers and Installers Association Scholarships: Two $500 scholarships are available to students who are pursuing degrees in engineering or environmental science. One scholarship will be granted to a high school senior and the other to a current college student. Applications are available in the guidance office and are due May 25, 2012.

Individual College Scholarships
Skidmore College: Porter Presidential Scholarships in Math and Science: Open to students who have excelled in math and/or science classes and who plan to take science and math classes in college, not required to major in math or sciences. No financial need required. Skidmore Scholars in Science and Math Scholarships: Demonstrate excellence in math and/or science, demonstrate financial need, continue to take math and science classes, but do not need to major in math or science. info on the Skidmore web site. Apply by January 15, 2012. Filene Music Scholarship: $10,000/year for 4 years for students who participate in musical ensembles and programs. More info at Filene Scholars.
Wheelock College: Merit Scholarships: $4K-8K for students with a 3.0 GPA and 1050 combined SAT reading and math. $8K-12K for students with a 3.4 GPA and 1150 combined SAT reading and math.
Boston University: Trustee Scholarship Competition: Strong applicants will be top 10% and active in school and community leadership. More info at BU Trustee Scholars.
Marist College, through a joint effort with the National Science Foundation, is awarding 12 full scholarships to highly talented students majoring in Computer Science or Information Technology and Systems.
New England Institute of Technology: Many essay and design contests to apply to tuition at NEIT. Applications are due March 21, 2012 and are available on the college's website: www.neit.edu.
National Co-op Scholarship Program: For students planning to attend one of these colleges: Drexel University, Johnson & Wales University, Kettering University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo, Wentworth Institute of Technology. Application must include a one page essay on why you have chosen to pursue a college cooperative education. Applicants must have a 3.5 or higher GPA. More information is available at www.co-op.edu. The deadline to apply is February 15, 2012.
College of the Holy Cross: Full tuition scholarships for students majoring in the Classics. Application is available in the guidance office. Deadline to apply is January 18, 2012.

FAFSA Filing Sessions at MA: Sign up for an appointment to get help filling out the FAFSA. Appointments are available on Tuesday, January 24 or Thursday, February 2 between noon and 5pm. Call for an appointment!
Award Letter Information Night: Tuesday, March 20, 6pm in the MA Music Room--Presented by NHHEAF to help seniors and their parents understand the components of the financial aid package and learn how to compare financial aid and costs of different schools.

FinAid: The Financial Aid Information Page " This page provides a free, comprehensive, independent, and objective guide to student financial aid." Links to other scholarship searches as well as a lot of specific information. Check out the page to see if any items may be of interest to you. This web site has excellent information on "How to Avoid Becoming a Victim of a Scholarship Scam," "Warning Signs of a Scholarship Scam", "Common Scholarship Scams", and "Evaluating Scholarship Matching Services." Good, informative reading.
The most important financial aid component is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application determines your qualification for student loans, grants and work-study. It can be filled out beginning in January of the student's senior year. If you are curious about what financial aid you will qualify for, check out the FAFSA4caster. NEW SOURCE for Merit Aid: Merit aid is awarded to students with a broad range of GPAs. Student Lending Analytics is a website that explains college funding options. If you are looking for a loan to help with college costs, they have a chart which shows rates for many lending institutions. They also have a blog which highlights news and trends in financial aid and financing college.

Information on other loan, work-study,and grant programs is also available. College Board Scholarship Search . This is the College Board's scholarship search. Find scholarships, loans, internships, and other financial aid programs that match your education level, talents and background.
Yahoo! Education:Financial Aid Again, this site provides many links to scholarship searches and information, including the informative Peterson's Education Center: Financing Education. You may also get to the online form for completing and submitting the FAFSA from here as well as info on the Stafford Loans. FAFSA
U.S. Department of Education - FAFSA on the Web Not only does this site contain the on-line FAFSA to complete (but not until AFTER January 1 !!), it also includes information on why you need to fill out this form and the kinds of aid for which the form lets you apply.
Students can now apply for financial aid vis the FAFSA on the internet. The federal form can be filled out on the internet at the web site above for both first-time filers and those who complete the Renewal FAFSA. You should check out the site for details about required signatures and see Mrs. Chapman for a sheet of information to have on hand.
OPE Title IV School Search Page . When applying for financial aid on the FAFSA, you need code numbers for each of the college to which you have applied. This site will give you those code numbers.
PROFILE CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE: This program/application is put out by the College Scholarship Service . Completion of this form is required by many colleges, university, and scholarship programs for nonfederal student aid funds. Paper PROFILE applications are available in the Guidance Office. The on-line registration form will not be available until after September 15. Both versions are just registration forms; an application will be sent separately in the
mail and will be customized to reflect the information requested by each of the colleges to which the student intends to apply. Students should not register for this until they are sure of their college choices.

NHASFAA On-Line This site contains the informative booklet put out by the State entitled, The NH Road to Higher Education (an excellent source of information !!!!). It also links to a site giving information for all NH colleges regarding the financial aid forms each requires, numbers, e-mail addresses of college financial aid officers, and financial aid deadlines. Scholarship and loan information, as well as when and where financial aid nights will be held is also available here.
NHHEAF:NH Higher Education Assistance Foundation Do check out this site. It contains valuable information for New Hampshire students.
Regional Student Program If the intended major of a student is not offered by a public college or university in New Hampshire, he/she may be able to receive reduced tuition at a state/public college or university in Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Maine which offers that major. This site includes a description of the RSP program; information about how to apply; a listing of participating institutions and the degree programs (Associate, Bachelor, and Graduate) available to NH residents; and the tuition savings.
NH Student Loans Features information about the Federal Family Education Loan Program, free services through the NHHEAF Resource Center and information about alternative financing.
Sallie Mae: Student Loan Market Another of the nation's largest financial services companies. Helpful information about planing, calculating expenses/costs, what to look for and where to find lenders, a tutorial to help students with money management when they leave for college.
The Education Resources Institute . A private, not-for-profit organization, TERI offers loans to help fill the financial aid "gap". There is also a link to several financial aid publications and free information (located at the Boston Public Library) regarding careers, education programs and financial aid.
