	Buildings and Grounds Committee Meeting Monday, December 8, 2008 Committee Members in Attendance: Bill Blackadar, Mark Borrin, Andy Coppinger, Michael Lancor, John Pendexter, and Kay Peranelli Others in Attendance: Jean Beadle, Ed Marudzinski The meeting began at 7:30 a.m. in the SAU Conference Room. Grounds Maintenance Bids: Committee members reviewed nine bids submitted and opened on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Mark Borrin moved, and Bill Blackadar seconded a motion, to accept the low bid of $122,100 for three years ($39,500 in 2009, $40,700 in 2010, $41,900 in 2011). The motion carried unanimously. Parking Lot Bids: Committee members reviewed eleven bids submitted and opened on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Joanne Coppinger, the project engineer, is in the process of contacting references for the two lowest bidders and will prepare a report for the School Board’s review during their meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Security Cameras: Committee members reviewed an estimate prepared by Laura Maroon and Kim Prause for MA exterior security cameras. Committee members reached consensus to begin developing bid specifications for up to ten exterior cameras. FY10 Projects: Committee members identified the following priority projects for the 2009-2010 school year. Costs shown below are strictly estimates. These projects would be funded by the $100,000 allocated in the proposed 2009-2010 budget and any fund equity available on June 30, 2009 that may be encumbered by the School Board for buildings and grounds projects. • Fill cracks and seal parking lots at MCS and MA $25,677 • Restripe parking lots at MCS and MA $ 3,000 • Resurface and stripe the athletic track $35,000 • Additional funds for MA exterior cameras $12,400 • MA gym lobby doors and windows $10,160 • Resurface interior walls in MA D-wing (200’) $11,843 • Soccer field inside athletic track (dig, screen re-level, loam reseed) N/A Total $98,080+ Mark Borrin moved, and Bill Blackadar seconded a motion, to adjourn at 8:15 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Michael Lancor, Superintendent of Schools
