Draft Meeting Minutes
Thursday, December 4, 2008
In Attendance: Advisory Budget Committee (ABC) Members Jean Beadle, Ed Marudzinski, Karel Crawford, Kathy Garry, and Gary Haracz
Also in Attendance: Bill Blackadar, Deborah Smith, Mike Lancor, Karen Peranelli, and Andrew Coppinger ofthe Schools.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairperson at 4:04 P.M. in the SAU Conference Room.
A motion was requested for the acceptance of the notes for the November 29, 2008 meeting of the ABC. Ed Marudzinski made the motion and Jean Beadle seconded it. Motion passed unanimously.
The agenda for the ABC meeting was the continued general discussion of the School Budget, supporting documentation, as well as recently received additional information requested by the Chair and noted in the November 29, 2008 Meeting Minutes.
First order of business was a distribution of material from Mr. Lancor as requested by Jean Beadle.
Discussion items and outcomes.
• Discussion of document that describes Job Description duties of several administrative personnel
• SAU final explanation of the Transportation Contract, the basis for decisions, and the limited latitude to modify the newly in-place contract
• Capital Reserve account makeup, purposes, and recent dollar levels (as received from SAU
• In-depth description of Project Safeguard from the responsible school personnel
• Companion discussion of Service Learning and Apprenticeship Programs
• Review of newly received chart of class assignments
• Presentation of the newly formulated Shared Activity program with Interlakes High School
• Explanation of the proposed Summer Credit Recovery program
• Detailed account of current auditorium operation and future utilization plans
• Explanation of Federal Projects funding and decreasing amounts and timing of receipt
• Details of current Transportation contract and possible future adjustment
• Desirability of an outside lighting and accessory study by outside source similar to the Town’s recent study
• Differentiation of the role and staffing of the School libraries
The Committee thanked the Schools for their timely responses its information requests and the thoroughness of the documentation.
Committee members are scheduled to attend the Town Department’s Budget Draft presentations to be held in day long sessions on December 10 and 12, 2008.
The next scheduled ABC meeting will be Thursday, December 15 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Moultonboro Library Heritage Room.
A motion was made by Ed Marudzinski, seconded by Kathy Garry, to adjourn the meeting at 5:50 P.M. The motion was approved unanimously.
