Moultonborough Advisory Budget Committee
Final Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, November 25, 2008

In Attendance:  Advisory Budget Committee (ABC) Members Jean Beadle, Ed             Marudzinski, Karel Crawford and Gary Haracz
Absent:   Kathy Garry
        
The meeting was called to order by the Chairperson at 10:05 A.M. in the Moultonboro Town Library New Hampshire Historic Room.

A motion was requested for the acceptance of the notes for the November 10, 2008 meeting of the ABC.  Ed Marudzinski made the motion and Karel Crawford seconded it.  Motion passed unanimously.

Jean Beadle, Ed Marudzinski and Gary Haracz attended the November 24, 2008 School Board Meeting where the School Budget was presented to the Board by the Superintendent and staff.

The agenda for the ABC meeting was the general discussion of the Committee’s approach to the School Budget as presented the previous evening.

Discussion items and outcomes.
•       Review of Trust information
•       Review of Federal Aid and the timing of receipt
•       Personnel levels
•       Grounds contract procedure
•       Lock contract procedure
•       Salary and benefits changes for the coming budget year
•       Need additional detail on Health plans from Superintendent
•       Operation of the Principals offices and need for additional explanation of staffing and duties
•       Request for detailed district organization chart to include multi-task responsibilities, splits and stipends
•       Request for overview of special education services and specialized care requirements
•       Discussion of vocational education as described to the Board
•       Need for further explanation of Co-Curricular salaries at the Academy
•       Request for clarification of Auditorium use policies and fee structure, fees being included in the Revenue presentation
•       Request to the Superintendent for clarification of the Guidance staffing, duties, splits and additional services provided as a sub-set for the organization chart request
•       Need for clarification of the Improved Instruction Coordinator’s tasks and in-service training programs
•       Explanation of Health insurance cost increase for the  Elementary Library
•       Continued need for information on General Transportation of students and potential alternatives for next contract

Jean Beadle will request needed information described above from the Superintendent’s office.  To facilitate this, Jean and Gary Haracz have arranged to meet with Mr. Lancor later today.

The next scheduled ABC meeting will be Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the Town Hall Meeting Room.

A motion was made by Karel Crawford, seconded by Ed Marudzinski, to adjourn the meeting at 12:25 P.M.  The motion was approved unanimously.
